Towser's tale
There are many stories of canine devotion to their owners.
This story from Aderdeen, Scotland is one of human devotion to a dog, Towser.
Towser, a labrador collie cross used to enjoy hunting for rabbits in the farmland to the north of the city. Then, sadly, one day in 1956 he was shot by a man who was also rabbit hunting.
His grave has been lovingly cared for ever since and lies adjacent to the old farmland, now an open public space.
Towser lives on, an early example of recycling as his owner, Mr Reid, has named all of his subsequent dogs 'Towser'
